Went to the Wimpy in Maldon for a trip down memory lane with my brother and sister in law. When we were kids and at least decade before McDonalds arrived in the UK Wimpy was a special treat. I thought we might have been disappointed and although the big squashy leather seated booths are gone, the old menu classics were still there. Our burgers were just the way we remembered and the chips were so plentiful. The whole experience took me back to my childhood. All I will say is that no other fast food chain gives you brown Derby's or Knickerbocker glories any more. We will definitely be revisiting our childhood again soon.

Have just had a lovely burger and fries on a real plate with a banana milkshake served in a glass. It was excellent. Why anyone would want to go to the clown in high street is beyond me.

A real blast from the past!!! Reminds me of my teenage years - great family eaterie that used to have branches everywhere. All the wonderful old classics: - Wimpy burger (the UK's first burger), original quarterpounder, Wimpy grill with the round frankfurter, spicy beanburger, brown derby, knickerbocker glory - but now a much extended and updated menu for these times. Still do a great beanburger but now with beetroot & onion relish - excellent! Clean 1950's-style diner, fast service and cheaper than you would expect; terrific.

We went into Wimpy in Maldon, today ( Wednesday Jan 18th 2022) . We were very impressed. A lovely lady explained the menu, being Wednesday, there was a meal deal . So John had that, and I had a classic grill. The food was absolutely delicious. The toilet was spotlessly clean, and the staff very friendly. Would thoroughly recommend. Ten out of ten. Well done and thankyou.
